UK Money Allergy Review

UK Money Allergies?

Who?:  Author; Dr. Jessica Noonan.

What?: Debating The risk of allergic reactions to a new coating on 10p and 5p coins in UK called "Nickel".

Where?: The United Kingdom.

When?:  Reported April 20th 2012 At 7:00 AM.

Why?: Because the government is making all their 10p and 5p coins into a potentially allergenic coating called "Nickel".

Main Idea:
The main reasoning of this article is to help pass on the warning and the debate between whether or not they should do something about this unlikely allergic reaction to their new coating on 10p and 5p that if it did happen it's a bad reaction.

Key People:
The United Kingdom, Dermatology experts, Dr. Danielle Greenblatt, And author of this article Dr. Jessica Noonan.

Key Quote:
“The studies show that several coin alloys that contain nickel give off significant quantities of nickel to the skin already after relatively brief contact,” reads the report from the Swedish Riksbank’s ‘Bank Note and Coin Project’ in 2011.  It concludes: “Nickel should not be used in the new coins because of the allergy risk.”

Predictions: i think that their just going to let this slide because it's a rare reaction and they probably could care less about the low percentage of people that actuallly do get the reaction.
